Umpiring is great fun and is as much a part of the game as is playing itself. If you are interested in volunteering (adult or youth), you may make your interest known by indicating so on the player registration form during registration, or by e-mailing or calling the Chief Umpire. It is a rewarding feeling to walk off the field after a game, knowing that you have made a difference in the Little League playing experience of our players.

Aside from calling balls or strikes, safe or out, umpires are responsible for teaching players good sportsmanship and the rules of the game.  Umpires are also called upon to interpret rules and help settle minor disputes that may occur during games.

GFBLL utilizes trained junior umpires (League Age 13 and older) and adults to be umpires for many of the upper divisions.  Training is typically offered prior to each Spring and Fall season.
